THE HITCHER LIMITED EDITION 4K RELEASE
It’s the end of an era as 1980’s cult classic THE HITCHER finally makes its debut on Blu-ray and 4K disc. Long unavailable, Second Sight are finally re-releasing director Robert Harmon and screenwriter Eric Red’s seminal tale of a mysterious and psychotic hitch-hiker, played by a never better Rutger Hauer, terrorising the young C. Thomas Howell in a twisted game of cat and mouse that plays out on the highways of the Midwest.
Second Sight have pulled out all the stops for what will surely be one of the years must-have releases. Restored in 4K from the original camera negative, the film will also be supplemented by a truckload of extra features presented in a rigid slipcase with artwork by Adam Stothard , a 200 page hardback book with exclusive interviews and essays, Eric Red’s original screenplay book and six collectors art cards.
Lucky audiences at this years FrightFest will be able to watch this classic in its remastered glory on the main screen in its worldwide premiere on Friday the 23rd of August.
Second Sight will then release The Hitcher on Limited Edition 4K UHD/Blu-ray box sets and on standard edition in both formats on the 30th September.
