THE SUBSTANCE - MUBI ANNOUNCES UK & IRELAND THEATRICAL RELEASE DATE

Seven years after her blistering debut REVENGE hit screens, Coralie Fargeat’s eagerly awaited, and award winning, sophomore feature has a UK and Ireland release date, courtesy of MUBI. Demi Moore, in what is being hailed as a career best performance, stars as ageing celebrity Elisabeth Sparkle, looking to reignite her career through a mysterious drug that replicates a younger version of herself, played by Margaret Qualley. 

Supposedly combining showbiz satire and body horror to great effect, Fargeat won best screenplay at this year's Cannes Film Festival, giving one of the year's most eagerly awaited genre films an air of mainstream respectability. MUBI will release the film across cinema screens on September the 20th while some lucky folk will experience the film at this years closing gala screening at FrightFest on the 27th August.
